MotorCity Casino Hotel



MotorCity Casino Hotel – the first permanent gaming location in the city and the only locally owned and operated Detroit casino unveiled a model hotel room that that will introduce a whole new level of hospitality to Detroit business and leisure travelers when the hotel opens this fall.

“MotorCity will provide a hotel product that is unmatched in this market,” said a hotel official. “We will provide a truly unique guest experience with an uncompromised level of service.”

When the hotel opens this fall, the 400 ultra-comfortable and high-tech guestrooms, including 41 suites, will include some of the finest comforts offered in the region. A peaceful and relaxing stay is standard with amenities such as luxury bedding with 300 thread count imported bed linens, a pillow library, sumptuous towels and bathrobes, marble bathrooms with separate soaking tubs and showers, and live foliage. The rooms also feature a customized climate control system based on guest history and will alert room attendants when the room is occupied to keep interruptions to a minimum. Asaad also added that if you like something in your room, anything, it can be delivered to your home or office. Most hotels only sell bathrobes or toiletries.
MotorCity’s guestrooms are designed for the business traveler and tech-savvy guest alike, providing a work station with ergonomic chair, high-speed Internet access, iPod docking station, 37” plasma TV and a two-line conference phone with voicemail. Also a hand-held phone that you can carry to the casino or onsite restaurants and receive calls.

The hotel interior décor compliments the “future retro” theme of MotorCity’s expanded casino space which opened June 7, with maple and Makassar ebony woodwork, plush fabrics and muted ivory, gold and black hues which evoke a nostalgic twist on contemporary furnishings.
The multilingual MotorCity staff will offer a superb guest experience with daily turn-down service, and several 24-hour benefits including a concierge, laundry, and in-room dining. Same day pressing service, a comprehensive, state-of-the art business center with secretarial support, and complimentary WiFi in public areas will provide a personal oasis with 24-hour connectivity. In addition, a full butler service will be provided to suite guests, allowing the hotel to accommodate and anticipate a full spectrum of guest needs.

Room reservations are currently being accepted for November 1, 2007, and group reservations are being accepted for January 2008. Reservations may be made Monday through Saturday, from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m.
A toll-free phone line and on-line reservation capability will be added in the near future.

MotorCity’s $275 million expansion is changing the face of entertainment in the City of Detroit by offering a spectacular combination of entertainment, dining, banquet, spa and gaming options that draw on Detroit’s automotive, music and sports heritage. In addition to the 17-story hotel, MotorCity is expanding its gaming space and adding a premium spa, convention and banquet space, a 1,200 seat theater, new retail and dining options and additional parking. Iridescence, Detroit’s only AAA Four Diamond restaurant, will relocate to the hotel's top floor adjacent to a new ultra-lounge, Amnesia. Both will offer exquisite views of the Detroit riverfront and skyline while establishing MotorCity Casino Hotel as a unique and cutting-edge entertainment, conference and resort venue.

MotorCity Casino, which first opened in 1999, incorporates the historic Wagner Baking Company building and has been under construction since 2006. The cornerstone of the Wagner Baking Company is being fully restored to its original condition circa 1915, preserving the signature feature of the 85-year-old Detroit landmark.
